Declaration of Candidacy

Confirmed Candidates

National Presidency

Eric Barnabé

An activist at the ADQ since the wave of 2007 when I became a member of the Charlesbourg's riding executive, I subsequently participated in the revival of the ADQ by becoming president of the Jean-Talon's riding executive and a member of committees such as political and organizational. When the ADQ was absorbed by the CAQ, I founded Équipe autonomiste with other members of the ADQ of the Quebec City region.

I was volunteers chair in Louis-Hébert's riding in 2011 (for Pierre Paul-Hus) and campaign manager in Rimouski-Neigettes-Témiscouata-Les Basques in 2015 (for Francis Fortin) for the Conservative Party of Canada and finally candidate for the PCQuebec in René-Lévesque's riding at the last provincial election.

My candidacy aims to allow members to appropriate our party by choosing the national president who will represent them at the BEN level. A president turned to them and the development of 125 riding associations. A president for the members. A president elected by them.

Jean-Nicolas Marchand

I am seeking a new term as President of the Conservative Party of Québec. Having worked as such for 3 years, I am particularly proud of our progress. I took the reins of a small party, without money and with a very incomplete executive. I knew how to surround myself and to work in synergy with very diverse and quality people. Because in politics, we do not subtract, we add! I gave them the desire to get involved to grow our Party together. I mobilized them and when moments of discouragement occurred, I knew how to "put gas in the tank" and they did the same with me.

The last election marked a milestone in which our Party became a major player, with 101 candidates, nearly 1.5% of the vote and funding tied to each of those votes. I acted with a strong desire to represent the members of the National Executive. Since the election of October 2018, I have given myself a more specific mission of managing with extreme vigilance the expenses of the Party, just like what a Conservative government will do. We are now entering a new phase where we have more National Executive candidates than available positions. I ask again your support to continue the ascension conservative.

Regional Vice Presidency
Nord-du-Québec, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Outaouais, Laurentides and Lanaudière

Normand Michaud

Party members,

I am Normand Michaud and I'm candidate for Regional-VP in my region of Nord-du-Québec, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Outaouais, Laurentians and Lanaudière in order to develop associations and prepare the next election and/or partial elections.

I want to make it clear that this region needs to be split in two for better management and development and I will bring this voice to the BEN to appoint a trusted person.

I can bring a significant experience to future candidates for the party and coach in the implementation of an election campaign.

Many members are disappointed and do not feel heard. I want TO BE for all the members THE VOICE so that everyone feels represented to the BEN.

I can bring a lot to the party such as transparency, integrity, respect and mobilization.

My greetings, Normand Michaud

Sherwin Edwards

Sherwin Edwards was a recent PCQ Candidate in the 2018 provincial elections, for the constituency of Argenteuil. Passionate about the PCQ’s platform he would like to take a more prominent position as Regional VP for Nord-du-Québec, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Outaouais, Laurentides and Lanaudière.

As founder of VapSelect and Laboratories V.S., he created an official Parliamentary petition in 2017-2018 to the House of Commons, signed by more than 10,000 voters across Canada, in support of opposing Bill S-5. He is also a member of the Tobacco Harm Reduction Association of Canada.

Mr. Edwards' strong aptitude for justice is the result of emerging from a difficult life journey, to a stable environment. Mr. Edwards has developed both a strong desire for justice and a believes that compassion can change lives. He is ready to represent PCQ members & Candidates leading into 2022 provincial elections.

Mr. Edwards is exceptionally motivated, and believes that a great leader knows how to motive and inspire his colleagues and wants to continue his career as a political figure and bring strong support to the executive committee.

Jean-Philippe Chaussé

I was nominated to the national executive board in September 2018 as regional Vice-President for Lanaudière, Laurentides, Outaouais, Abitibi-Téminscamingue and Nord-du-Québec. I was initially reluctant to accept this offer. The supervision of the activities of our party on a territory approaching a million square kilometres, during a general election, was an enormous responsibility for a 24-year-old undergraduate student. However, I was inspired by the trust placed in me by the members of the BEN, and so I accepted the task entrusted in me.

The results of my work during the elections speak of themselves. For example, in the Outaouais, we never had presented a single candidate during an election, and we only have 5 members. I was our only candidate less than a month away from the beginning of the elections.

We presented 5 candidates out of 5, which enabled the party to receive an additional subsidy of $8,117.50 per year, to get a refund of half our electoral spending and to recruit new members and volunteers.

Our numbers in this region are now six times bigger and, out of 28 ridding that were attributed to me, 26 had candidates in the 2018 election. These accomplishments would have been impossible without the implication and the devotion of our members, and without proper leadership.

I successfully petitioned the national executive board to adopt a proposal for a constitutional amendment which would change the regions. The regions were an issue which has concerned members for a long time and which was extremely polarizing, and I am especially proud to have made a proposal which offers the best compromise, and I hope you will adopt this change to our constitution.

My work is far from over. The next years until the elections are an opportunity to improve the structures and the inner workings of our party. There is no limit to the amount of work that can be done by a regional Vice-President of the Conservative Party. I am especially happy to see that my work has triggered the interest of members, and I hope that my opponents will be ready to get even more involved after this national congress.

Mauricie, Centre-du-Québec, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Côte-Nord

Jessie Mc Nicoll

I have successfully assumed my role as National Vice President and as Regional VP for the past two years. This is an objective view because there was a candidate in every riding under my administration during the last election and I also recruited candidates for almost every other regional VP. But in a more subjective way, this role pushed me out of my comfort zone several times and each time, I had the feeling to take up the challenge successfully.

If there's a point on which people are unanimous about me, it's that with me, it moves on! If my mandate is renewed, it will continue to move! But beyond my talent to mobilize people, my role within the Conservative Party of Québec allows me to develop other aspects of my leadership. At the end, I can still bring a lot to the Party, and the Party can still bring a lot to me... If the members want it!

Regional Vice Presidency
Montreal and Laval

Patrick St-Onge

Born for a little bread? Maybe! There's a time to be born, it's true; but there is also a time to learn to walk. There's a time to see little, but there's also a time to see ... where are we going!

There was a time for sovereignty, now it's time to inspire!

If there are shock phrases that can be read as a compass to point forward, here are some of them: "Our values are not for sale"; "Government must never sacrifice the well-being of individuals for the well-being of the community"; "We believe fundamentally in the ingenuity and sense of initiative of Quebecers if they are left free to act ..."; "Quebeckers must contribute to a united and democratic Canada in which they can affirm their identity".

That's what we are, that's what I want to contribute with my candidacy.

Good convention to all!

Regional Vice Presidency
Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière Appalaches

Anne DeBlois

Having been a provincial candidate twice and volunteered at all 3 levels of government over the last 5 years, I will be happy to use my experience to develop the already conservative partisan base in the great Quebec City area, EDA's and make our values known to the citizens of Quebec City, Lévis and surrounding areas.

Our large region is more conservative than it thinks! Thank you for your trust.
